Get to know us!

The Lurdy House is one of the most famous shopping centres in Budapest. The centre currently has over 100 shops to choose from, a number that is set to increase significantly in the near future. The shopping centre and the offices are continuously renewing their interiors and offer effective marketing communication activities. We hope that the renewed Lurdy House will further attract visitors with its attractive appearance, services and numerous events. We look forward to making a visit to Lurdy House a part of everyday life for people living in the area and further afield.

A real attraction!

According to the latest statistics, the population of the IX district is approximately 60 000. The purchasing power index for the district is 127, which is significantly higher than the national average of 100. The Lurdy House is a facility serving the South-Pest region and its catchment area also includes municipalities south of the capital. The catchment area of the shopping centre in the southern districts is 558 000 people. For the southern part of Pest County, this figure rises by a further 470 000 people, giving a 30-40 minute catchment area of more than 1 000 000 people within the Lurdy House.

The district where Lurdy House is located is one of the most dynamically developing areas of Budapest. A successful, internationally recognised redevelopment has renewed the district’s building stock, with a succession of firewalls and derelict buildings disappearing. By 2002, the district government had spent some HUF 6 billion and the capital city HUF 800 million on revitalising the area. Contractors have invested several times that amount, more than seventeen billion forints. The huge investment has also brought a number of other positive changes. Not only have the residential buildings and public spaces been renewed, but the age composition of the area has also been significantly rejuvenated.
