The Night of the Museums is an almost traditional cultural event in Hungary, held every summer since 2002. It is usually held on the Saturday closest to St. Ivan’s Eve. Initially, only museums took part, but its success led to other art institutions, associations and businesses and factories joining the event, attracting more people with its colourful programme.

Useful information

The next Night of Museums will take place on 22 June 2024, with more than 400 institutions and nearly 2,000 programmes across the country. A special feature of the Night of Museums is that a ticket is a wristband that allows you to visit all the institutions participating in the programme. For ease of transport, it is recommended to use public transport, as the wristbands will be valid on the special BKK “MU” trains.
