Happy Cat International Cat Show

2026.10.05.

Why do we love cats so much?

A dog rushes over to greet you when you get home. A cat might just glance up from the sofa—then, five minutes later, curl up beside you and start purring. Of course, some cats are waiting at the door too. That’s exactly what we love about them: you can never sum them up in a single sentence.

Some have to inspect every shopping bag and try out every new box. Others prefer to watch what’s happening around the house from a comfortable spot. Then, when the mood strikes, they’ll come over to play or cuddle. Dogs and cats have different ways of winning our hearts—and luckily, we don’t have to choose between them.

One big, one blue-eyed and one almost hairless

There are some truly memorable cat breeds, too. The Maine Coon is hard to miss: a large, bushy-tailed cat that loves to play. The Ragdoll charms with its soft coat and blue eyes. And while the Sphynx has hardly any fur, it often makes up for it with a love of company. Breed only tells you so much, though—you really get to know a cat through its own little habits.

If you’d like to spend some time among cats, come to Lurdy Ház on 10–11 October for the Happy Cat International Cat Show. You’ll find the programme details on the event page.
